About

Hello! The name's Rachel

I love cooking and baking and am constantly looking for new ideas and learning new things. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and best friend; we have an adorable goldendoodle named Yankee (doodles), and a german shepard mix, Mocha. aka baby Mo, aka Mo-flop.

A "Jersey Girl" (not really - AT ALL - don't call me that) at heart, we relocated to Delaware for my job, and as much as I miss the beach and our family/friends, it's really not so bad down here.

I've always been involved in sports, but once high school/college ended, I was kinda left to my own devices on how to stay in shape.  I've tried pretty much everything there is out there including but not limited to: Jillian Michael's 30 day shred, TurboJamz, Turbofire, Insanity, P90X, P90X2, Asylum, Zumba (once), Couch 2 5k, chronic cardio, yoga, strength trainingprograms, kettlebells, etc... and finally found a sustainable (yet expensive) approach: CrossFit.

Upon moving out and having my own kitchen many years ago, I went from cooking things like hamburger helper and lean cuisines, to actually trying, eating, and LIKING vegetables. (I know, right?)  I seriously don't understand how I went 24 years of my life without eating sweet potatoes.  I try to eat clean 90% of the time, and attempt to follow the guidelines for a Paleo lifestyle.

Figured I should probably update this.  I don't eat all that paleo anymore, if you couldn't tell. :)  Meals are still lots of whole foods, but there is also a fair share of treats!  I'm Eating to Perform!

I started October 2014, jumped in fully in January, and have been full force ever since.  I love it.  You can read more about my change in mindset here: http://eatrunrach.blogspot.com/2015/01/tow-etp-match-made-in-heaven.html  I got certified taking the ETP Coach's Course back in May and now I'm dropping knowledge bombs left and right!

I still alter recipes to make them "healthier" (why does a freaking cookie recipe need an entire 2 cups of sugar!), AKA - make them fit my macros!  And I still cook a LOT of paleo/primal recipes.  I just don't use as much fat, and sooooommmmeeeetimes add some bread or pasta.  Gotta get those carbs in, brah! OM NOM NOM.

Send me an email at rachel.marcisin [at] gmail [dot] com if you have any questions, or want to know more about me, I'll be happy to answer!  If you are interested in finding more about Eat to Perform, reach out, I'll hook you up!

Thanks for reading! :)
